In his retirement statement via the UFL, Scarbrough reflected, “You can love this game all you want. But at the end of the day, the game can’t love you back because it’s not a person; it’s a ball. I have so much respect for the people still playing. And when it’s your time, you’ll know it’s your time.”

Scarbrough joined the Lions during the 2019 season and made an immediate impact, gaining popularity among fans for his physical style of play at 235 pounds. However, his time with the Lions was short-lived. He began the 2020 season on the injured reserve list, eventually being waived after returning from injury. Despite brief stints with the Seahawks and Raiders, Scarbrough found a home in the USFL.

Best wishes in retirement, Bo!
