Michigan running back Donovan Edwards announced he’s returning to the Wolverines for the 2024 season.

As a junior, Edwards ran for 497 yards and five touchdowns. His finest performance was reserved for the College Football Playoff championship game, as he carried the ball six times for 104 yards and two touchdowns against Washington, winning 34–13.
His declaration was made the day after Michigan lost top rusher Blake Corum and quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the NFL.

Additionally, the offensive change extends well beyond McCarthy and Corum. First-team All-American guard Zak Zinter, who was unanimously selected, and Rimington Trophy winner Drake Nugent are both on the move. Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson, two of the Wolverines’ top three receivers, have left the team.
