Toronto FC has announced that defender Luke Singh will be loaned to Atlético Ottawa of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) for the rest of the 2024 season.
Singh, aged 23, has previously had loan spells with FC Edmonton and Atlético Ottawa over the last two seasons, accumulating a total of 48 appearances in the CPL. During his time at Atlético Ottawa, he featured in 27 matches and scored one goal across various competitions, including the CPL regular season and the Canadian Championship. Before joining Ottawa, Singh spent a season on loan at FC Edmonton, where he played in 24 matches across CPL and Canadian Championship fixtures.
Originally joining Tor
onto FC through a Homegrown Player contract in April 2021, Singh made eight appearances and scored one goal during his debut season, participating in MLS Regular Season and Concacaf Champions League matches. His first-team debut for Toronto FC occurred against Club Leon in the Round of 16 at the Concacaf Championship on April 7, 2021.
Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Singh began his journey with Toronto FC II in March 2019 before being loaned to Danish football club Brøndby IF for the remainder of the 2019 season. He contributed 24 appearances and two goals during his time with Brøndby. Returning to the Young Reds for the 2021 campaign, he made seven appearances and scored two goals in the USL League One. Singh initially joined the TFC Academy in 2017.
On the international stage, Singh has represented Trinidad & Tobago at the Concacaf U-20 Championship and earned two caps for the senior team during the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup.
